Ben & Jerry’s Hosts Picnic For Retailer

Ben & Jerry’s brought a community picnic to Aberdeen after retailer Chris Cobb of Keystore Express was named the winner of a UK-wide retailer competition that celebrated the role convenience stores play in their communities. The picnic, held on August 25, transformed the Cults & District WRI Hall into a lively community celebration, with local residents enjoying great local food, live music performances, and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream.

Community Picnic Marks Retailer’s Victory

The ice cream brand organized the community picnic, offering local food, live music, and an abundance of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream. The popularity of their Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich, a recent addition to their product line, was evident as it became a crowd favorite. The event was a celebration of the retailer’s victory in the competition.

Keystore Express owner Chris Cobb, who won the competition, was delighted to see his customers and neighbors coming together. “It was a great day for the whole community to enjoy,” he said.

Ben & Jerry’s Recognizes Retailer’s Efforts

Lucy McManus, brand manager for Ben & Jerry’s, praised Cobb’s efforts and the role convenience retailers play in their local communities. “Convenience retailers play a vital role in their local communities,” she said. “We wanted to give them the chance to bring people together and celebrate the communities they serve.”

The competition, which ran from June 22 to July 19, allowed retailers like Cobb to highlight their local communities while celebrating the launch of Ben & Jerry’s Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich. As part of his prize, Chris also received £2k to donate to a cause of his choice, giving him the opportunity to support his local community.

“It was great to recognise Chris’ efforts with a day of great food, entertainment and, of course, plenty of Ben & Jerry’s ice cream,” McManus said. “Seeing the excitement around the Cookie Dough Ice Cream Sandwich extend beyond the store and into the wider community was brilliant.”

Cobb expressed his pride in seeing his customers, local families, and neighbors come together. “We were so thrilled to be selected as the winner, and it was a fantastic opportunity to give something back to the people who support our business every day,” he said. “Seeing our community come together to enjoy the event made us incredibly proud.”
